Foreign Concept
In January 2017, award-winning and beloved Chef Duncan Ly approached us with his vision for a restaurant concept that would take flavour profiles from his Vietnamese and Chinese roots, infused with inspiration from French cooking techniques and Korean culture. While he was minutes away from signing a lease at a prime location in Calgary’s Beltline community, he had yet to come up with a name, brand identity or website. We got to work.
After presenting him with two names, brand identities and positioning concepts, he chose the more modern and curiosity-inspiring Foreign Concept. From there, we created a highly visual and appetite-inducing website that reflected not only the food but the luxurious interior of the space as well as the warmth, passion and inspiration that goes into every plate.
